I’ve always wondered how Koreans (or people with flawless skin in general) achieve that kind of “glow” in their skin. Of course there’s the regular derma appointment, facials, proper diet, exercise, enough sleep and all the other health-related things they say we have to do if we want to achieve and maintain beautiful skin. However, I am fully aware (and I hope you are too, at this point) that using skin care products that work well for our skin and give us positive results is also important in taking care of our skin. That, in conjunction with eating and living healthy, will do a lot of good to our skin. It takes time, but it is definitely worth it. In this post I will talk about one of my Skin Care Game-Changers (read the first one here.) and it is the Isa Knox Ideal Ringer Astin C Drop. If you’re interested in my review of this product and if you want to know how it changed the skin care game for me, please keep reading. 😉
PACKAGING – Is the packaging pretty enough to give as a gift to someone? Is it fragile? Is it sturdy or flimsy? Is it bulky or travel-friendly? Does it get dirty easily? Is it hygienic?
PERFORMANCE – Is it easy to use/apply? Are the instructions easy to follow? To whom do I particularly recommend this product? (dry, normal, combination, oily, sensitive, acne-prone, troubled, mature, wrinkled skin, men)
LONG TERM USE – Will I use it again or continuously? Will I repurchase it once I run out? Are there long-term skin benefits?
VARIETY – Are there enough choices or variants for everyone? If it is a product for a specific skin type, does it perform well?
VALUE FOR MONEY – In skin care, it does not matter whether the price is high or low; as long as the product works for one’s specific skin needs and/or preferences. But! 🙂 Of course I prefer more affordable brands. 😉 Also, it helps if the brand offers samples or deluxe sizes of their products so people can try it first before buying the full size. 🙂

Overall Rating: 4.85/5 ❤ ❤ ❤
PACKAGING – The serum is packaged in a glass bottle. It contains 40 mL of product. It comes with a plastic pump that dispenses the product easily. The cap closes tightly and the bottle is not too big and bulky. The bottle is not too heavy despite it being made of glass. I would take this with me when I travel if I will be away for more than 3 days; but if I won’t be away for long, I will just transfer some into a smaller container for travel. The packaging is sturdy and the pump does not break easily. I like the packaging of the product and I recommend it if you’re planning to give someone a skin care product as a gift.
PERFORMANCE –The serum has a lightweight gel-like consistency. It comes out as an orange-colored gel that feels slightly tacky at first. It smells sweet and a bit similar to Vitamin C food supplements. Once I apply it on my skin, the orange color is not visible anymore and the gel glides on and spreads easily on my face and neck. The scent goes away 1-2 minutes after application. The instructions for use are written on a separate piece of paper inside the box that the serum comes with and they are easy to follow. (All important information is written both in Korean and English.) The Isa Knox Vitamin C serum is one of my skin care game changers for a good reason. Out of all the serums and essences I’ve tried, this one is the most effective for me. I definitely noticed improvements in my skin texture after using this product. It also helped fade my acne scars and dark spots. It made my skin look and feel smoother and softer after use. I also noticed that my skin got brighter (not whiter/lighter/paler) and made my skin glow in a natural way. It did not make my skin oily, greasy or unnecessarily shiny; but it brightened my skin and made it look like I was glowing from within. I have been using this serum for more than a year already and I continue to see positive results from using this product. I recommend this product for all skin types. People with dry skin can use a thicker moisturizer after this serum while people with oily skin can use a gel moisturizer. It is lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin so even people with sensitive skin can use this. If you are looking for a brightening serum, (Vitamin C is for brightening) this is a good affordable option. And it works! (At least for me, it does.)
LONG TERM USE – Like previously mentioned, I have been using this serum for more than a year already and I will continue repurchasing it. This is a really good serum and I highly recommend it. Even if you are not that into brightening or whitening Korean products, I still suggest giving this serum a go because it will not make your face look much lighter than your neck or your body. It will just brighten your face and make you look like you’re glowing from within. It reduces dark spots, improves skin texture and makes the face look less dull and flat-looking even without makeup.
VARIETY – There are three kinds of serums/ampoules in the Isa Knox Ideal Ringer line: Astin C Drop- brightening, Medihyalon Drop- moisturizing and Silkroin Drop- anti-aging. I would give this a 5 if they had another option for people with oily skin. While I said I recommended the Astin C Drop for all skin types, it might be too sticky for people with very oily skin. Other than that, it’s great that they have different options for different skin concerns.
VALUE FOR MONEY – I bought this for 600 pesos (+shipping fee) from Ms. Mei Satsuki. (Follow her on Facebook and Shopee for more Korean makeup and skincare products.) It is not too expensive and not too cheap either. But considering the results it continuously gives my skin, I will continue repurchasing it because I think it is worth it. I am also canvassing in different stores and shops (online and offline) to find cheaper alternatives and better deals.
Overall, I LOOOOOOOVE this serum! ❤ It is the best one I have tried and I will continue using it until I find something better, although I highly doubt that. 😀 Well, that’s all for this post. I hope you guys liked it. I’ll see you in my next post. Stay happy and healthy! Annyeong! :*
